Stop at Denny's for brunch and have a philly cheese omlette with a vanilla milkshake. I guess at least the eggs and mushrooms are nutritious!
It's a pretty long drive, the weather was rainy in Orlando and it gets better the closer we get to Miami, top down for the last 50 miles.
Check into the Hilton Bentley on 1st South Beach. It's nic as its off the main part of Ocean Drive but only a 10 minute walk to the action.
Spent the week relaxing at the pool/beach. Found that Ocean Drive is a rip off, you can eat and drink in far better and far cheaper places back on Colins orWashington.
I wouldn't say it felt completely safe in South Beach although it's no doubt better than other parts of Miami. There are homeless people all over the place and drugs are openly offered as you walk past at night. They say its built on drug money from the 1980's and it feels like it.
The beach is fantastic, the food is fantastic and our hotel was fantastic. Made a mid day trip for some American burgers at five guys - they just opened a store in London apparently.
The night scene is a a little bit odd, it's like everyone turns up there expecting something amazing and as a result you get a pretty odd feel in the bars on Ocean Drive. Not really my cup of tea for a party scene.
Pleanty of fancy cars driving up and down.
After 5 nights its time to go home, in 8 sectors via Honalulu of course....
